With kids the sheer idea of a tablecloth is laughable. But to dress up the table and keep it interesting I made place mats for each person in our family. I used scraps from my scrapbook supplies and extra prints of pictures that I had on hand and placed them on top of a solid 12x12 piece of card stock paper. I then took clear laminate (you can buy a big roll at any office supply store) and covered the front and back, no worries if milk spills.

Boy how many times have I put on a new table cloth after one meal. Too bad good old mom didn't think about the place mates, right!
