Preteen gift in under an hour

My niece just turned 13 and is showing an interest in makeup. As one of the only makeup wearing women in our family I knew exactly what I wanted to make Alsasha for her birthday. A makeup bag!
It is made entirely of fabric from my fabric scraps. I used a piece of home decor fabric for the outside and lined the inside with an orange cotton, sandwiched between the layers is cotton batting and a vintage button from my collection adds that final sparkle that the bag needed. I then filled it with some eyeshadow that I knew she would like.
I got that "your the coolest aunt ever" smile after she opened it...priceless!
